Music at OUUC

Come, You Who Are Filled, sung by the choir at the June 6, 2010 Sunday services.
Music is important to our congregation and is integrated into our services by our music director Troy Fisher (currently on administrative leave). Services always include congregational singing and meditative interludes. Our choir rehearses once a week and sings at both services on alternate weeks, and presents two major concerts each year.
The choir usually rehearses on Wednesday nights at 7 pm, and occasionally on Monday nights when Troy’s theater performances occur. If you are interested in joining the choir, just come to a rehearsal – we welcome new members anytime. We take a break from June through August. For more information, contact Anita McIntosh.
In addition to the choir, Troy offers a voice class on Saturday mornings at 10 – 11:30 am. There is no fee or registration – just show up. Describing the class, Troy says “We work on posture, breathing and ear training. We sing a variety of songs ranging from high to low, ballad to scat. We sing together and brave to sing duets and solos! It's a chance to sing your heart out. Come and join the fun. All levels of talent are welcome. Newcomers are welcome.” For more information, contact Bernie Steckler.
