When we work together, we can have a greater impact on the larger community than we can have alone. Joining (or starting) a team to serve the larger community is a great way to find others who share your values and interests while making a difference in the larger community.

The Anti-Racism/Anti-Oppression Team plans and supports OUUC’s ongoing work toward racial justice, equity, and inclusion. Anyone interested in helping build a more just and welcoming world is encouraged to get involved.

Community Kitchen Team
The Community Kitchen Team helps provide a welcoming meal for members of the wider Olympia community through a weekly dinner ministry at the Salvation Army. Volunteers prepare and serve salads, fruit, bread, and desserts while offering hospitality and care to those in need. Whether you can help regularly or occasionally, your participation is welcome.

The Economic Justice Team plans and supports advocacy, education, and action promoting economic equality. Members work together to advance fairness and opportunity in our community and beyond.

Faith in Action Alert Group
The Faith in Action Alert Group in OUUC Connect (Realm) provides a way to receive timely updates about justice-related events, advocacy opportunities, and actions aligned with OUUC’s mission and Unitarian Universalist values. Members can receive and share information about emerging opportunities to engage in faith-based action and community advocacy.

One Parish One Prisoner Team
The One Parish One Prisoner Team supports a friend in their return to the community after incarceration through relationship-building, advocacy, and practical assistance. The team is not accepting new members as of Summer 2026.

Siding With Immigrant Families Together Team
The Siding With Immigrant Families Together Team supports local organizations working for immigration justice and advocates for policies that uphold the dignity and rights of immigrants. Team members engage in education, advocacy, and community partnerships to support immigrant families and oppose mass deportation efforts.

Unity Commons Shelter Dinners Team
Unity Commons Shelter Dinners Team helps provide home-cooked meals for adults staying at the Unity Commons Shelter. Volunteers prepare a main dish and/or side dish to serve approximately 10–12 people, working together to ensure that all shelter residents receive a nourishing meal. Whether you can contribute once, occasionally, or on a regular basis, your contribution is welcome.
