Environmental Justice

two men talking about the warm window project

We were originally called the Green Sanctuary Committee, but have renewed our purpose in the past year. We now call ourselves the Environmental Action Team. Our mission is to educate, advocate, and empower the congregation to act for the health of the planet, particularly in terms of climate change. We are a vital part of Justice in Action.

We have a weekly table in the Commons packed with environmental information which affects us locally, nationally, and globally. We also have a bulletin board in the Education Wing that is updated regularly. On the first Sunday of every month, we collect old batteries and will answer questions about recycling, particularly of hazardous materials. We do lots of other environmentally conscious things as well.

We are a small, but mighty group that meets every month on the second Sunday following the second service. Come join us!
