An OUUC COVID-19 Update: May 2022

by Rev. Mary Gear

If you track COVID cases, you know that they are rising in Olympia and around the country. At OUUC, the Health & Safety Task Force recently updated the congregation’s guidance to reflect the new risk levels from the CDC and COVID ActNow. You can find OUUC’s guidance on the website here.

We are at “medium” risk now, which means that we continue our practice of masks except for speakers and soloists, as well as screening and signing in. We’ll bring these safety measures with us to the 70th Anniversary & Installation celebration at Good Shepherd Lutheran on Saturday, June 4.

With the increase in risk, we also started asking people in the OUUC sanctuary on Sunday to hum rather than sing. It’s not ideal, and we take these measures to protect each other.

Thank you for your care – for yourself, each other, and our community.

Rev. Mary
