OUUC is a welcoming and multigenerational congregation. Children are included and welcome in worship and community events. Additionally, we have programs for children, youth, families, and intentionally all-ages learning opportunities.
If you would like to be added to an email list for information on family or children’s events and activities at OUUC, please contact our RE Assistant.
What to Expect on Sunday Mornings:
Children of all ages are welcome in the worship service, and we have a comfy corner with bean bag chairs and fidgets and coloring sheets. We also have nursery care for children under 4 years of age, and a fun and hands-on classroom for children 4-10 years old. It is up to each family how they want to participate on Sunday mornings, and moving back and forth between the options is always fine as well. Parents are welcome to stay with children in class or the nursery, or leave them there and worship.
The Sunday classroom experience is meant to be flexible and open to all, so it is fine to drop in and attend whenever your schedule permits.
Older children, those in Middle and High School, have Youth Programs at 11:30.
Programs at Other Times of the Week:
We offer childrens and multigenerational programs often on Thursday evenings, following the Community Night Dinner at 5:30 that is open to all. This is when our main “curriculum” based programs for children occur, and we ask for families to register and commit to regular attendance for these classes.
Interdependent Web of Life: A Class for Kids ages 5-10
Thursdays 6:30-7:30
(Date Change from original posting): April 11th to May 30th
One of our Unitarian Universalist values and principles is Interdependence, and we know that we humans are part of the web of life, not separate from it. In this 8 week class children will explore different aspects of the web of life, learning about the water cycle, photosynthesis, and more amazing examples of nature and interdependence. Science meets spirituality in this celebration and appreciation of the natural world.
Suggested Donation of $50-$100
