Adult Education Team
What: The team looks for new classes that are likely to interest adults at OUUC, recruits leaders for classes, and assists the leaders in scheduling and presenting classes, either via Zoom or in-person.
The team also responds to inquiries from OUUC members and others who may be interested in leading classes.
When/How: The team normally meets monthly on the fourth Thursday at 2:30 on Zoom, and it also conducts business by email.
A team member assisting a class leader helps schedule and publicize the class and sends reminder notices to those who have registered to attend.
For Zoom classes, the team member reserves a Zoom account and hosts the Zoom session (or arranges another host).
For in-person classes, the team member assisting the class leader helps in reserving a room at the church and setting up the room and any AV equipment, as well as opening and closing the building if needed.
Skills Needed: Familiarity with Zoom and with AV equipment is helpful, but the necessary skills can also be learned. It is also helpful, but not essential, to have the physical ability to set up and take down tables and chairs in classrooms.
Time Commitment: 0-1 hours per week, flexible schedule
