Food Chains shows us the very human lives of farmworkers, their hopes, their dreams, and their fight for a livable wage. Workers in Immokalee, Florida petition Publix Super Market to pay one more penny per pound of tomatoes. Their campaign taught them how supermarkets and food corporations set the rules and prices. And how they need to claim the wages they have earned. As one farmworker said after seeing the film, “I feel proud to be a farmworker.”
