November-December 2021 Share the Plate Recipient: The Mayday Foundation

Our November/December “Share the Plate” partner is The Mayday Foundation, which provides immediate, practical financial support to local families raising kids while coping with cancer. Contributions gathered and distributed by The Mayday Foundation help families facing the massive expenses of cancer care avoid having to file for bankruptcy or losing their homes. The Mayday Foundation support helps these families cover critical household expenses like rent, utilities, gas and groceries.

Since January 2018, The Mayday Foundation has supported almost 60 local families, which include nearly 90 children, who have a family member coping with cancer. None of those families have had to file for bankruptcy and all have been able to stay in their own homes while dealing with the illness.
